California Woman Arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Prescription Drugs

A Kelseyville woman has been arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs after she collided with a school bus on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lake County News, 57-year-old Sandra Jean Burnett was driving northbound on Kelsey Creek Dr. when her vehicle merged onto oncoming traffic.   A Kelseyville school bus, driven by 39-year-old Shawn Dale Rogers, noticed Burnett's vehicle but was unable to get out of the way quick enough and the vehicles crashed head-on.  The bus had 25 grade school children on board at the time of the accident; four complained of pain but none were taken to the local hospital. The bus driver was uninjured however Burnett suffered minor injuries.  

Officers arrested Brunett and she was booked at the Lake County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence causing bodily injury and being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm as well as misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license for a previous DUI, an addict driving a vehicle and a misdemeanor probation violation.
