A San Diego resident has been arrested for driving under the influence as well as other charges after he stole the sheriff's cruiser and led police on a 23 mile chase.
Posted By Thomas V. Wallin

According to the San Diego 10 News, 30-year-old Sean Michael Webber stole a police car at around 9:45am Sunday morning, on the corner of Midland and Twin Peaks roads.   Officers were standing near the vehicle when Webber jumped in and drove off. A pursuit began immediately after Webber stole the vehicle with the assistance of a sheriff's helicopter crew as the California Highway Patrol.   The 23 mile, 38-minute chase ended when Webber drove to the end of a cul-de-sac in the Carmel Valley area, barreled through a fence, then came back towards officers before he exited the still-moving car and surrendered.

Officers arrested Webber took him to the San Diego Central Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bail.  Webber was booked on suspicion of felony evading, felony theft of an on-call emergency vehicle, misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

San Diego Cop Allegedly Drove Drunk
Posted By Thomas V. Wallin

A San Diego police officer is under investigation for driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of an accident.

According to CBS8, 41-year-old David Hall, a motorcycle traffic officer for the city of San Diego, is being accused of crashing his brown GMC into a gray Chevy Suburban on Murray Ridge Road at the on ramp to the I-805. The female driver of the Chevy Suburban claims that Hall took off without stopping while Hall says that he did stop and left after the woman said she was okay.  Once officers located Hall at his Linda Vista residents, he submitted to a breathalyzer test that proved Hall’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

Cases Involving San Diego Police Officer Accused of Sexual Misconduct Could Be Dismissed
Posted By Thomas V. Wallin
California DUI Attorney A San Diego police officer who specialized in DUI patrols is charged with inappropriately touching female drivers he pulled over for traffic violations.

At least four women have made complaints of sexual misconduct against Officer Anthony Arevalos, an 18-year veteran, all involving drunk driving stops in or near the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego.

•    On Feb. 20, 2010, a woman alleged Arevalos sexually assaulted her during a DUI arrest.
•    On Dec. 29, 2010, a 20-year-old woman said Officer Arevalos tried to solicit a sex act from her during a DUI stop.
•    On Feb. 20, 2011, a 25-year-old woman said she was handcuffed when Arevalos repeatedly fondled her shoulders, while pulling up the straps on her dress.
•    On March 8, 2011, a 32-year-old woman reported Arevalos sexually battered her during a DUI stop. She did not receive a citation.

Since Officer Arevalos is facing criminal charges and his credibility regarding past DUI arrests is at issue, there is a chance that open DUI cases involving the officer could be dismissed. At the least, prosecutors may be more willing to accept favorable pleas to avoid calling Arevalos to the witness stand.

In unusual circumstances such as these, it is important to have an experienced California DUI attorney.
