Oroville DUI Checkpoint - 9/4/11

OROVILLE - The Oroville California Highway Patrol office will conduct a checkpoint for sobriety and driver licenses in Oroville on Sunday.

The local office plans to check vehicles from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The location of the checkpoint was not revealed.

Butte County DUI Checkpoint - Labor Day Weekend

DUI Arrests Down & DUI Fatalities Down The Summer/Labor Day National Anti-DUI crackdown has resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the Eight DUI deployments overnight in Butte County.

From 12:01 AM Friday August 19, 2011 through Midnight Wednesday August 31, 2011 officers representing eight county law enforcement agencies have arrested sixty (60) individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In 2010 eighty (80) DUI arrests occurred during the same thirteen (13) day time period.

For the Labor Day Holiday weekend a DUI Checkpoint will be conducted in the city of Chico on Sunday. Extra DUI Saturation Patrols will be deployed in the town of Paradise and the city of Chico. All regularly scheduled traffic and patrol officers will focus efforts at stopping and arresting DUI drivers during their normal shifts. The CHP will be deploying all available officers onto freeways and county roads during their Maximum Enforcement Period this weekend beginning 6:00 PM Friday. Multiple/DUI Driver's License Checkpoints, Multi Agency DUI Task Force operations and local Roving DUI patrols are set region wide during 18 day Summer/Labor Day Campaign.

Police, Sheriff and the CHP encourage all motorists to help make your community safer: Report Drunk Drivers - Call 911. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

DUI arrest data collection will continue through Labor Day midnight Monday, September 5, 2011.
