Humboldt County DUI Checkpoint Press Release 

Fortuna - September 9, 2011

FORTUNA, CA - Officers from the Fortuna Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint to crack down on drunk driving in the city's ongoing effort to improve traffic safety, save lives and prevent injuries.

Officers will be conducting this Special DUI Enforcement on Friday, September 9, 2011 by conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint starting at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the 500 block of S. Fortuna Boulevard in Fortuna.

The Fortuna Police Department would like to remind people to be responsible and designate a sober driver. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers and if you are caught driving buzzed, drunk or under the influence of drugs, you will be arrested.

The Fortuna Police Department would like to remind citizens to drive safely and you're encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 9-1-1 if you see a suspected impaired driver.

Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint will be conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from approximately 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Main Street in Fortuna.

Fortuna Police Department would like to remind people to be responsible and designate a sober driver. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers and if you are driving impaired you will be arrested.
