Hanford - September 23, 2011
HANFORD - The California Highway Patrol will conduct driver's license and sobriety checkpoints starting at 6 tonight and running to 2 a.m. Saturday within the central portion of Kings County, according to Lt. Dave Knoff, commander with the CHP.
Sobriety checkpoints at the unnamed location will be staffed by CHP officers trained in the detection of alcohol and/or drug-impaired drivers. Agency drug recognition experts, certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will also be on site to evaluate the sobriety of drivers suspected of drug use.
