Fresno Drunk Driving DMV Process
The California Department of Motor Vehicles will allow an administrative per se hearing to determine the merits of the stop and arrest of the Fresno DUI. The issues determined at the California DMV hearing are different than the issues determined through the Fresno County Superior Court system and the two hearings are completely independent of one another. If you hire a Fresno Drunk Driving Defense Lawyer within ten calendar days of your Fresno DUI arrest then they will contact the DMV on your behalf and can conduct the hearing for you. To find out more about the DMV process in a Fresno DUI, contact one of our qualified Fresno DUI Defense Attorneys.
Posting Bail following an Arrest for a Fresno DUI
If you are arrested for a Fresno DUI that is charged as a felony then you will likely be required to post bail. Bail is monetary security paid to the court assuring your appearance at a future court date. Posting bail allows you to be released from jail but requires that you appear at the next court date and all future court dates or risk losing the bail that you posted. Since bail can be extremely expensive, a bail bondsman can be hired to assist you post bail. A professional bail bondsman will require a portion of the bail upfront (usually 10%) which will not be returned. The remainder of the money will be posted by the bail bondsman. If you hire a skilled Fresno DUI Defense Attorney then the bail bondsman may lower the down payment. Additionally, a Fresno Drunk Driving Defense Lawyer may be able to assist you with getting an overall bail reduction or even dismissal.
